Best apps to share restaurant recommendations with friends
Beli suits ranked lists friends can follow, Mapstr and Google Maps share a list by link, and Truffle is a journal that stays social without a review feed. Palytt shares the dish: friends’ verdicts appear in a restaurant’s Order Guide when they have rated it.
We make Palytt, so it is on this list and we say where it is not the right fit. The apps are ordered from restaurant-level sharing to dish-level sharing, not by rating. Facts come from each app’s own US App Store listing, linked below, checked October 10, 2026.

How to choose an app for sharing recommendations
Want ranked lists and a friend feed? Beli, or see Beli alternatives.
Want to send a link to people with no app? Mapstr maps open in any browser, and Google Maps lists share with others.
Want a private circle, not a public feed? Truffle and dailydish are built for friends rather than strangers.
Want to say which dish to order? Palytt and MenuScouter focus on dishes. See what to order.
Want to remember what you ate yourself? See the restaurant journal guide and the best apps to save restaurants you want to try.
Where Palytt is not the right fit
Friends see Palytt dish verdicts only where they have rated a dish, and the app is for iPhone and iPad. If your friends are on Android today, a shared Mapstr or Google Maps link reaches them sooner. See where to get Palytt for Android status.
Palytt does not rank every restaurant you have been to. If you want a ranked restaurant history, Beli is built for that. See Palytt vs Beli.
A public table link shows public food only, so it shows your dishes rather than a complete restaurant history.
Good to know
What is the best app to share restaurant recommendations with friends?
It depends on what you want to share. Beli shares ranked restaurant lists and a friend feed, Mapstr and Google Maps share lists by link, Truffle is a social journal without ranking, and Palytt shares dish verdicts. We make Palytt, so weigh that.
Can friends see my recommendations without the app?
Mapstr says shared maps open in any browser without an app, and Google Maps lists can be shared with others. Palytt has public table links that show public food only, and guests can vote in a Room from a browser. Check each listing for the current rules.
Is there an Android app for sharing restaurant recommendations?
Google Maps, Mapstr and Beli have Android versions. Palytt is for iPhone and iPad for now, with Android coming. We did not check Google Play for the smaller apps here, so confirm Android availability in their own listings.
Why is Palytt on a list it may not win?
We make Palytt, and it shares friends’ dish verdicts. Every description of another app follows its own US App Store listing, checked October 10, 2026, and the list says where Palytt is not the right fit. We have not tested every app.
