Best apps to save restaurants you want to try
For one list of every kind of place, use Google Maps or Mapstr. Beli keeps want-to-try restaurants beside a ranked history, Resy fits places you would book, and Palytt keeps dishes and places you want to try beside friends’ dish verdicts and group votes.
We make Palytt, so it is on this list and we say where it is not the right fit. The apps are ordered from the broadest everyday tool to the most specialized, not by rating. Facts come from each app’s own US App Store listing, linked below, checked October 10, 2026.

How to choose a restaurant wishlist app
One list for every kind of place? Google Maps or Mapstr hold restaurants next to cafes, shops and hikes.

Want the dish, not only the place? Palytt and Tayste keep dishes you want to try. See how Palytt decides what to order.
Want to book from the list? Resy puts a saved place one tap from a reservation where Resy takes bookings.
Choosing with a group? See the best apps to decide where to eat with friends.
Where Palytt is not the right fit
Palytt is for iPhone and iPad. Android is coming, so if you or your friends are on Android today, Google Maps, Mapstr or Beli have Android apps. See where to get Palytt for the latest status.
It is not a map for every kind of place. If you want hotels, shops and hikes on the same map as restaurants, use Google Maps or Mapstr.
An imported place is a future save, not a visit, a dish rating or a personal match. Palytt does not make reservations or promise live menus and prices.
Good to know
What is the best app to save restaurants you want to try?
It depends on how you use the list. Google Maps and Mapstr suit one broad list of places, Beli keeps want-to-try restaurants beside a ranked history, Resy fits places you would book, and Palytt keeps dishes and places you want to try beside friends’ dish verdicts. We make Palytt, so weigh that.
Can I import my Google Maps saved places?
Mapstr’s listing says it imports Google Maps, CSV or KML lists. Palytt can review a Google Maps saved-list export or a CSV spreadsheet before you choose which places to save. Imported places are future saves, not visits.
Is there a restaurant wishlist app for Android?
Google Maps, Mapstr and Beli have Android versions. Palytt is for iPhone and iPad for now, with Android coming. We did not check Google Play for the smaller apps here, so confirm Android availability in their own listings.
Why is Palytt on a list it may not win?
We make Palytt, and it has a want-to-try list. Every description of another app follows its own US App Store listing, checked October 10, 2026, and the list says where Palytt is not the right fit. We have not tested every app.
